Our approach

Process-based thinking, applied to real organizations.

Every organization, whether it's a construction company, a hospital, a manufacturer or a public agency, is a set of connected processes. Real improvement starts with understanding how they interact.

  • A clear framework of processes. We map how work actually flows, including inputs, outputs, owners and hand-offs.
  • How processes interact. Problems usually live between departments, not inside them.
  • Integrated management systems. Quality, environment and safety run as one system, not three binders.
  • Grounded in your context. The people you answer to, and the real risks and opportunities you face.
Why it matters

Four responsibilities every organization carries.

Scaffold with a 100% fall protection required sign

Safety

People should go home the same way they arrived. When a safety system works, nobody notices. When it doesn't, the cost is measured in lives, families and trust.

Environment

Knowing your environmental aspects, impacts and legal obligations protects the communities and land we share, and your licence to operate.

Quality

Quality is doing what you say you'll do, every time. We help you see how your processes interact, know which nonconformities matter, and measure them. The story of quality →

Security

Protecting your people, property and information. Good security keeps sensitive data private and your operations running when something goes wrong. Security assessments →

The four work best together. That's why we build integrated systems that are practical, fit for purpose and owned by your people.

Services

How we help.

Every engagement is shaped around your situation, and every one is evidence-based, independent and confidential. Open any service to see what's included, or see the full list of services.

Often we end up doing more than advising: we run the safety, environmental or security program for you, bring it into compliance, and research the answers when they aren't obvious.

On-site, remote or hybrid

With you, wherever the work is.

Some work is best done standing on the shop floor. Some is done just as well, and faster, over a video call and a shared folder. We'll recommend the approach that fits your sites, your people and your timelines.

In person, where the work happens.

Nothing replaces walking a site, watching the work and talking with the people who do it. On-site visits are best for first assessments, high-risk operations and certification-style audits.

  • Site walkthroughs and front-line interviews
  • Audits and quality control checks against the exact requirement
  • Workshops and training with your team in the room

On-site audits

ISO, COR and internal audits in person, across Canada, and further afield where the work and local rules allow.

Virtual audits

Real-time audits by live video walkthrough, with screen-shared records.

Remote audits

Document and system reviews done entirely at a distance, no visit needed.

Quality control checks

Spot checks of products, processes and records, scheduled or on call.

Built into your tools

Support through the Teams or Zoom, cloud files and dashboards you already use.

Independent recognition program

Industry Stewardship Verified.

An independent outside look at your systems, without the time and cost of formal certification. Your organization is assessed against a published set of criteria drawn from international standards, and you receive an independent statement of what we found.

A credible outside checkAn independent opinion you can share with your board, funders and customers.

Choose your scope

Safety, environment, quality or an integrated system. The criteria are published up front, so there are no surprises.

Independent assessment

Document review, interviews and observation, on-site or remote, measured against the published criteria.

Clear findings

A plain-language report of strengths and gaps, with time to close any gaps before a decision is made.

Statement of recognition

A written statement that your system meets the published criteria, with scope and date, renewed through periodic follow-up.

In plain terms: Industry Stewardship Verified is an independent, non-accredited recognition program. It is not accreditation by the Standards Council of Canada or any IAF member accreditation body, it is not ISO certification, and it is not a Certificate of Recognition (COR). A COR is issued only through an approved certifying partner (in British Columbia, a partner approved by WorkSafeBC).

If your situation calls for formal certification, we'll tell you, and help you prepare for it.

AI integration

Put artificial intelligence to work for your organization.

AI can take hours out of reporting, documentation, training and analysis. For most small and medium-sized organizations, the hard part is finding the time to plan it, choose the tools and set it all up.

That's where we come in. Using AI to do much of the heavy lifting, we set up your cloud or in-house server, centralize and organize your files, and open up records you couldn't easily reach before, built around the way you already work.

Your systems & processes

AI built into the work you already do: document control, inspections, audits, incident reports and corrective actions.

Servers & cloud

AI tools set up on your own servers or trusted cloud platforms, with your data kept private, secure and under your control.

Data & reporting

Turn inspection, incident, audit and performance data into clear dashboards and reports, without the hours of manual work.

Training

AI-assisted training materials, refreshers, and knowledge assistants your people can question any time.

Security & privacy

Secure set-up, access controls, privacy safeguards and human oversight, so AI supports your system instead of adding new risks.

Time back

Less time on paperwork and reporting, more time on the people and work that matter.

No time to do it yourself? We'll build it for you.

Canada, modernizing

Helping Canadian organizations connect the pieces and reach further.

Years of working alongside management teams have made us good at one thing in particular: seeing how the pieces of an organization fit together, and finding practical, often surprisingly simple ways to meet what's expected of it. Canada is modernizing, and we'd like to help organizations here make the most of it.

Across provinces

One consistent system for organizations working in more than one province, aligned with each jurisdiction's requirements and certification programs.

Beyond our borders

Management systems and certifications that meet what customers and partners in the United States and abroad expect.

Modern systems

Updated processes, digital records and AI tools that help Canadian organizations work more efficiently and compete.

A personal note

I really enjoy helping organizations work well.

Much of my career has been spent in boardrooms, working through problems, connecting the dots and finding logical ways to improve systems. What I care about isn't the day-to-day drama or the gatekeeping that happens inside organizations. It's the work underneath: how much effort quietly gets lost, and how much better things could run.

I'm well aware of how many issues sit hidden inside agencies and supply chains, some untouched for years, where nobody is quite sure where to start. That's often where I'm most useful. I'll take the time to understand what's really happening, including how government, regulators and the wider world connect to your organization, and help you find a sensible way forward.

I'll always be learning. Every organization teaches me something, and I'm happy to say when I need to go and find the answer.

Working with companies, finding connections and helping agencies prosper is a joy for me. If you'd like to sit down and talk through a real problem, I'd be glad to meet you.

The meaning behind the name
Stewardship means caring for something that isn't only yours: the people who do the work, the communities around it, and the land it depends on.

Everyone goes home

Behind every procedure is a person someone is waiting for at the end of the day.

Trust lives in the details

Honest findings, kept promises and systems that do what they say they do.

Leave it better

For the communities and land we share, and for the people who come after us.

That's what Industry Stewardship means to us: looking after the people and industries we serve, beyond what compliance requires.

Compliance help

Not sure what applies to you?

Many agencies and organizations are rightly focused on their own work. They don't need a full management system, just the right things sorted out. Sometimes that means catching up on things that were never quite dealt with. We help quietly, confidentially and without judgement.

How compliance help works →

  • Working out what environmental or safety rules actually apply, and which don't
  • Completing required reports, plans, permits and filings
  • Responding to an inspection, an order or a possible penalty
  • Catching up on work that's fallen behind, before it becomes a problem
Industries

From job sites to hospitals to boardrooms.

The standards are the same, but every sector runs differently. We bring hands-on experience from high-risk, regulated and people-focused workplaces, and we welcome organizations and agencies of every kind.
