Who we are

Industry Stewardship is an independent consultancy based in Canada. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. It applies to this website only.

What we collect

We collect information only when you fill in and send one of the forms on this site. What each form asks for depends on its purpose:

• General contact, Compliance help, Security and IMEBO research forms: your name, organization or company, email address, phone number (optional) and your message.
• Canada Connect and Canada Connect International registrations: contact details as above, plus details about your company, such as province or country, city, industry, size, products or services, what you're looking for, certifications, interest in verification and preferred language.
• Tip line link request: only an email address, an optional pseudonym and an optional few words. See Tip line below.

Please don't include sensitive personal information in a form unless it's needed for your request.

How form submissions are handled

When you send a form, it goes through a third-party form service, Web3Forms, which forwards it by email to our business inbox. That inbox is hosted by Apple iCloud. Web3Forms may process your information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

We don't sell your information or share it with others, except:

• Canada Connect introductions, which we make only with your agreement; and
• where we are required by law.

Tip line

The tip itself is never sent through a form on this website. The tip line form only requests a link. Tips are submitted through a separate, single-use secure link sent to you.

We take care to protect people who send tips, but no one can promise perfect anonymity. Think about what details you share and how you access the link.

How the website works

• Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare, which may log technical data such as your IP address for security and performance.
• Fonts: fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When they load, Google receives your IP address.
• No tracking: the site itself uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
• Interactive tools: the IMEBO interactive tools and the center-sequence stepper run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored.

Why we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry.
• To provide the services you've asked for.
• To run Canada Connect matching and introductions.
• To keep records where we're required to.

We don't use your information for anything else without asking you first.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. You can ask us to correct or delete it at any time.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, you can ask to:

• see the personal information we hold about you;
• correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
• withdraw your consent, for example to Canada Connect introductions, subject to legal or contractual limits.

To make a request or ask a question about privacy, please use the contact form and mention "privacy" in your message. We'll reply as soon as we reasonably can.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. Our email and the services we rely on are secured with modern encryption. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our services are intended for organizations and adults. This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
